Iranian film Show commences in Dhaka

A five-day long event, the ‘Iranian Film Show’ has been inaugurated at the Bangladesh National Museum. The festival is a joint venture of Iran Cultural Centre, Dhaka and Bangladesh National Museum.
On the glorious occasion of the 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, ICC arranged a discussion on “Cultural Values of the Islamic Revolution in Iran,’’ followed by the five-day long film festival.
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Rashed Khan Menon, MP was present as the chief guest. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangladesh, H E Dr Abbas Vaezi Dehnavi, eminent filmmaker Morshedul Islam, CEO of the Bangladesh Tourism Board Akhtaruz Zaman Kabir were also present as special guests.
Professor Dr Md Iqbal Hossain from Islamic University, Kushtia, presented the keynote paper while the director general of Bangladesh National Museum, Faizul Latif Chowdhury, presided over the meeting.
The program followed by screening of the Bengali dubbed Iranian film – Golhaye Dawoodi.
The films are going to be shown at the main auditorium of the museum, from February 5 to 8. A total of eight Iranian films will be shown with either Bengali dubbing or English subtitles throughout the festival. It will be open to the general public everyday from 11:00am till 5:00pm.
